Page 1 of 2 Medieval Villages of Liguria 6 Days - 5 Nights
Day 1 Arrival in Baiardo and accommodation in typical Country House. Welcome drink and walk in Baiardo, small village in the hills dominating all the Valley of Rio Bonda. Vegetarian dinner with biological products. Day 2: Apricale*, Isolabona, Dolceacqua, Lesson about herbs
After breakfast, departure for an excursion in the medieval villages of Apricale*, charming fortified village dating back to the 13th Century whose name is derivated from Latin “apricus” (“exposed to the sun”) and Isolabona, typical village of fortified mountain in the Val Nervia, hanging on a mountain. Time for lunch. prosecution to Dolceacqua, production plce of the famous “Rossese” wine, which you'll be able to taste with snacks in a cellar of the old town. Visit of the village (Castle fo the Doria, S. Antonio Abate Church, S. Giorgio Church, Addolorata Sanctuary) and time for lunch. In the afternoon, return to Baiardo for a lesson about herbs used in cosmetics. Dinner in restaurant.
Day 3: Bussana Vecchia, Ospedaletti, Bordighera, Villa Hanbury, Balzi Rossi After breakfast, departure to the villages of the "Riviera dei Fiori": Bussana Vecchia, an ancient village rinovated by european artists; Ospedaletti, an old village on the Seabank founded by the legendary "Cavalieri di Rodi" and the "Cavalieri di Malta"; Bordighera, situated on Cap Sant'Ampelio, about 20 km of the french borderline and at the feet of the Maritime Alps. Time for lunch. in the afternoon, prosecution to Ventimiglia and visit of Villa Hanbury and of the archeological site of Balzi Rossi. Return to Country House, begetarian dinner and overnight. Day 4: Cooking lesson After breakfast, departure to visit the market of Sanremo where you can choose fresh and local products for the cooking class. Time for lunch. In the afternoon, cooking class with dinner to follow. Overnight.
Day 5: Colle di Langan, Triora*, Badalucco, Arma di Taggia After breakfast, departure for an excursione to Colle di Langan and Triora, the villages of witches. The village of 726 inhabitants is hanging on a rock at 780 meters of altitude in the alta Valle Argentina. It has kept intact its medieval atmosphere together with remarkable examples of rustical architecture. Time for lunch. In the afternoon, prosecution with the visit of Badalucco and Arma di Taggia, a coast town famous for its shipbuilding activity dating back to the late 18th century. Arma di Taggia is also famous for its extra virgin olive oil production from the typical "Taggiasche” olives. Return to Country House and dinner in restaurant. overnight.
