CrossingItaly, as a new brand for incoming in Italy, was born from the 20 year experience of Living Language, language school and tour operator based in Genoa, specialized in the organization of language lessons in Italy and abroad. Our travelling proposals for Liguria, our base, and Italy follow various thematics: gastronomy, wellness, sports, children. So our trips are caracterized by flexibility, sense of details and valorisation of regional cultures. We propose thematic itineraries, in order to let you discover a region under her most various aspects, and favouring: gastronomy - wine and food tasting, cooking classes, fishing - wellness, itineraries for children, biking, trekking, golf, etc. We generally favour hotel structures which offer a nearer contact with the local culture, as well as country houses and B&B. |

Day 1
Arrival in Cottage. Welcome drink. Visit of Montemarcello*, village classified as one of the most beautiful villages of Italy and wonderful medieval old centre with overview upon the Gulf of La Spezia and the estuary of the Magra River. Dinner in restaurant and overnight. Day 2: Marble Caves of Carrara, “Colonnata”, Tasting
After breakfast, guided excursion to the Marble Caves of Carrara, to discover the origin of the sculptures of Michelangelo and Canova. Visit of Colonnata and tasting of "lardo", a unique italian speciality. Time for lunch. During the return trip to the Cottage, possibility of visiting the ancient village of Ameglia where is a very ancient ligurian necropolis with incineration system dating back to the 4th Century before Christ. You can also visit Bocca di Magra, a small village at the estuary of the Magra River, a famous meeting place of intellectuals and writers with an important historic and artistic testimony like its old roman sea town ruines (1st century before Christ – 4th Century after Christ). Dinner on your own and overnight.

Day 3: Portovenere, Three Islands (Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto)
After breakfast, departure to Lerici, a village on the sea of Etruscan origin where you can also visit the Castle (13rd Century) and its geopaleontologic Museum. Time for lunch. In the afternoon, boat tour to “Portus Veneris” (Portovenere), a picturesque sailor village dating back to the 12th Century, already famous in roman times for its beauty. Tour of the Three Islands (Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto). Return to Lerici by boat and return to the Cottage. dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 4: Cinque Terre (Vernazza* and Manarola*), Wine tasting
After breakfast, meeting with the guide at La Spezia railway station and departure to Monterosso. Guided visit of the “Cinque Terre”, five villages on rocks dominating the sea in one of the purest mediterran area of the Ligurian coast (National Park and protected territory of Unesco since 1997). Time for lunch. In the afternoon, meeting with a wine producer in Riomaggiore for a visit of vineyards with wine tasting in cellar. Return by train to La Spezia railway station. Return to the Cottage. Dinner on your own and overnight.

Day 5: Sarzana, Fortress of Sarzanello
After breakfast, departure for Sarzana and free visit of the small town (La Cittadella, S.Maria Assunta Cathedral, Pieve di S.Andrea, historical palaces, Villa Ollandini, Diocesan Museum), religious centre and cultural which has kept its original medieval atmosphere, dominated by the fortress of Firmafede. Time for lunch. Visit of the medieval fortress of Sarzanello. Return to the Cottage. Dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 6: Trekking, Tellaro*, Fiascherino
After breakfast, meeting with guide in the cottage and departure for a trekking to the sailor villages of Tellaro* and Fiascherino. Tellaro* is an ancient and suggestive village of probable Etruscan origin, situated on the riverbank. Prosecution to Fiascherino, a small village located in a bay in the middle of pines, holm, oaks and olive trees. Time for lunch. Return to the Cottage by public transport (20 minutes). Dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 7
Departure after breakfast.
